Vern Lafreniere, ARNP

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner | Founder, NW TMS & Wellness Psychiatry Center

I’m a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 22 years of experience supporting adults navigating a wide spectrum of mental health challenges—from mood disorders and psychosis to trauma, addiction recovery, and the quiet stressors of daily life. I received my training through the University of Washington’s Psychiatric ARNP program and specialize in thoughtful, personalized medication management.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: no person is too far gone, and no concern is too small. I’ve built a career on persistence, compassion, and partnering with patients to find what works—not just clinically, but in real life. I bring this same approach to my leadership of Northwest Psychiatry & TMS.

As the founder of this practice, I’ve worked to expand the options available to patients by offering advanced treatment technologies like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). I believe in TMS not as a last resort, but as a valuable, science-backed tool that can help patients regain momentum when other treatments plateau. It’s especially powerful when paired with insight, education, and consistent support.

Beyond patient care, I’ve spent time mentoring the next generation of nurses as a clinical instructor at Shoreline Community College and a preceptor for psychiatric ARNP students. Teaching sharpens my skills and keeps me grounded in why this work matters.

Whether you're navigating something chronic or something new, I meet patients where they are—with curiosity, clarity, and care. Our team works together, and we genuinely want to know what’s working (and what’s not) so we can keep improving. If you’re ready to take that next step, we’re here to support it—no matter what it looks like.
